AMD has officially begun rolling out its next generation laptop processors, with 2nd Gen Ryzen PRO and AMD Athlon PRO hitting the market, complete with Radeon Vega graphics on board. As you might expect, these laptops will be taking aim at video editors, 3D modellers and those that need extra portable horsepower for working on the go.
As you would expect, Ryzen PRO mobile processors are built on the 12nm process. For comparison purposes, AMD claims that a Ryzen 3700U is 16 percent faster in multi-threaded performance compared to a Core i7-7600U. AMD also rates these processors for up to 12 hours of battery life doing general office work, or 10 hours of video playback.

Right now, HP and Lenovo are the first laptop makers signed up to release 2nd Gen Ryzen PRO and AMD Athlon PRO powered systems. The first batch of laptops are expected to begin rolling out this quarter.
KitGuru Says: AMD's 2nd Gen Ryzen Pro mobile processors arrive at an interesting time, as rumour has it that Intel's 9th Gen laptop CPUs are just around the corner. When that time comes, it will be interesting to see the comparisons head to head.
