Despite being the first game in the series to not feature a campaign mode, Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 received a lot of praise when it came out. A large portion of that came down to the Blackout mode, a Triple A take on Battle Royale. For the rest of this month, Blackout will be free to play across all platforms to celebrate the launch of the new map.
Blackout is getting a new map- Alcatraz, based off of the famous San Francisco prison. The map launches today and you can get a quick look at it in the trailer below:
To promote the launch and get some new players into Blackout, the game mode will be free from the 2nd of April until the 30th. PS4 owners had early access to the new Alcatraz map but from today onward, Xbox One and PC players should also be able to access it.
To access Blackout for free during this month, you'll need to find Black Ops 4 on the Battle.net store and hit the ‘Try' button underneath the regular purchase options. On Xbox, you'll see a similar button on the store. PlayStation owners will need to find the ‘Blackout trial' listing on the PS Store and download that.
KitGuru Says: It has been a few months since I last jumped into Black Ops 4 but I did enjoy Blackout quite a bit at launch. Are any of you planning to try out Blackout's new map this month?
