Since its release last year, Larian Studios’ Baldur's Gate 3 has been sweeping the award ceremonies, with the RPG nabbing GOTYs left and right, Larian now have 5 more trophies to add to the shelf courtesy of the BAFTA video game awards..
As mentioned, Baldur’s Gate 3 has been given its flowers across the whole industry, with the universally acclaimed RPG winning multiple Game of the Year Awards, including the Golden Joystick Awards; Geoff Keighley’s Game Awards; the Steam Awards; D.I.C.E. and GDC.
The annual BAFTAs have now come and gone, with Baldur’s Gate 3 managing to win 5 out of its 11 nominations, As mentioned, the team took home the GOTY, but BG3 also received nods in a number of other categories, namely:
- Best Music
- Best Narrative
- Best Performer in Supporting Role – Andrew Wincott as Raphael
- EE Player's Choice Award
Baldur’s Gate 3 took a large portion of the awards, being by far the biggest winner of the night. That said, other notable games included Alan Wake 2, which won ‘Artistic Achievement’ and ‘Audio Achievement’.
Other games to have won more than a single award include Nintendo’s Super Mario Bros. Wonder (Family Game | Multiplayer Game) and indie darling Viewfinder (New Intellectual Property | British Game).
With more than 15 million copies sold and a ton of awards, Baldur’s Gate 3 has truly put Larian Studios on the map.
