Gray Zone Warfare is now available in early access

Madfinger Games, the Czech developer behind mobile titles such as Shadowgun and Dead Trigger, has announced the early access launch of their latest project, Grey Zone Warfare. The tactical first-person shooter PC game has already secured the seventh spot on Steam's worldwide wishlist, and it's expected to rival Escape from Tarkov.

The game features a vast, open-world environment spanning 42 square kilometres, accommodating up to 48 players and 1000 AI troops. Players can choose from PvEvP and PvE modes, with single or team play for up to four players. With over 150 assignments already available, players can expect a decent amount of content, with more to come as the early access phase continues.

The developer promised frequent updates during the early access period, which could last several years. These updates will include new material, extended world-building, new weapons and gear, new quests, environmental narrative, optimisation, and bug fixes. Grey Zone Warfare is powered by Unreal Engine 5 and will come out with DLSS 3 support and Lumen global lighting.

Grey Zone Warfare's early access started today on Steam. Players can purchase four different game editions, starting at $34.99 for the Standard Edition. The Tactical Edition ($57.99), Elite Edition ($79.99), and Supporter Edition ($99.99) offer varying levels of additional equipment, cash, and cosmetic items.

KitGuru says: Considering Tarkov and its developer's current issues, there's hardly a better time to release Gray Zone Warfare. Hopefully, Madfinger Games is not rushing the release to take advantage of the situation and launch a buggy mess, as we've seen plenty of times.
