It has been almost four years since Rocksteady released its last major game and there have been rumours surrounding what they are working on ever since. It could be another Batman Arkham game, or a Superman title, we've even heard rumours about Wonder Woman, The Justice League, Suicide Squad and even the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. So far, we've had no answers and unfortunately, it doesn't look like we'll be getting any at E3 next week.
Each year as we gear up to E3, speculation on what Rocksteady is up to begins to climb. This year though, the studio has confirmed that it won't be appearing at E3, so whatever they are working on, it'll be a while before we hear about it.
Hi all! A number of you have asked so we wanted to let you all know up front that @Rocksteadygames won't be showing at E3 this year. We’ll be watching as fans but remaining in London, hard at work on our next big project. Enjoy the show!

Rocksteady's Sefton Hill confirmed in a tweet that the studio won't be showing at E3 this June. However, he does assure that the team is hard at work on its next big project, a similar statement to the one he made last year leading up to The Game Awards.
At this point, it seems likely that Rocksteady's next major project is targeting next-gen hardware, although it will likely also run on the current generation of consoles. As for what it is, we'll be kept in the dark for another year or so.
KitGuru Says: I didn't like Arkham Knight much at launch but I recently gave the game another chance and ended up thoroughly enjoying it. It is a shame that we'll have another E3 without Rocksteady but there is always next year. In the meantime, I'm sure Warner Bros has its Montreal studio cooking something up based on the DC universe Rocksteady set up.
