Gigabyte Aorus PCIe 4.0 SSD will launch at $259.99 for 1TB

We are starting to get a better idea of what launch pricing will be for the upcoming slate of 1TB and 2TB PCIe 4.0 SSDs. Earlier this week, we learned that Corsair will be launching its 1TB drive at the $249.99 mark and now, it looks like the Gigabyte Aorus PCIe 4.0 SSD will be priced just a tad higher.

The Corsair MP600 is rated for sequential read speeds of up to 4950MB/s and sequential write speeds up to 4250MB/s. We spotted the competing Gigabyte Aorus PCIe 4.0 SSD at Computex last month and it does boast slightly higher peak speeds, with sequential read speeds of up to 5000MB/s and sequential write speeds of up to 4400MB/s.

The Corsair MP600 will hit the market at $249.99 for 1TB and $449.99 for 2TB. The Gigabyte Aorus 1TB PCIe 4.0 SSD will be priced a bit higher at $259.99 and the 2TB version will cost $479.99. Gigabyte's SSDs will be shipping a little earlier too, with availability scheduled for the 8th of July rather than the 13th.

Of course, the best way to make use of one of these SSDs is by upgrading to 3rd Gen Ryzen and an X570 motherboard, which we've heard will end up being quite expensive. If you are in the market for both of those things, then you may well want to factor in an SSD upgrade too.

KitGuru Says: I'm very impressed by the speeds of these SSDs so far but from what we've been hearing from conversations with folks in the industry, even faster PCIe 4.0 drives aren't too far off. Are any of you planning on upgrading your PC this year? Will you be looking to get a PCIe 4.0 SSD?
