While we've all been aboard the hype train for Cyberpunk 2077 this past week, there is one other big RPG in the works deserving of some time to shine. Later this year, Obsidian Entertainment will return to Fallout-style open-world RPGs with The Outer Worlds. The game isn't coming out until October but you can check out a fairly lengthy gameplay capture right now to see what the game is like.
During an E3 Coliseum panel last week, Obsidian took to the stage to present a chunk of gameplay from The Outer Worlds publicly for the first time.
The full panel has a ton of information about the game, covering its various RPG mechanics like dialogue options, combat, companions etc. Of course, the game also looks very reminiscent of Fallout New Vegas, which many hoped Obsidian would have the chance to make a sequel to someday.
The Outer Worlds was pushed back a little bit though. Initially, the game was due to come out in August. Now, it will be launching on the PC, Xbox One and PS4 on the 25th of October instead.
KitGuru Says: I'm not a huge fan of top-down, text-heavy CRPGs, so I'm looking forward to seeing Obsidian return to this style once again. Hopefully the game turns out to be as good as we are all hoping. Are any of you planning on picking this one up?
