Call of Duty Modern Warfare open beta coming in September

Modern Warfare returns this year for the Call of Duty franchise, bringing back classic multiplayer modes, a single-player campaign and as you might expect, Battle Royale. Previews of the game have now gone live across the web and Activision has announced the dates for the game's open and closed beta tests.

The Modern Warfare beta will be available first on PS4. Those on Sony's platform can play  on the 12th and 13th of September if you have pre-ordered, then the beta will open up to all PS4 owners from the 14th to the 16th of September. Those who pre-order the game on PC or Xbox One will get to play on the 19th and 20th of September, with the beta opening up to everyone on all platforms on the 21st through to the 23rd of September.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare will then launch on the 25th of October. Those playing the beta will get to try out classic game modes, like Team Deathmatch and Domination, in addition to 2v2 Gunfight and Ground War- which is the new Battle Royale mode with two match types, one with over 100 players and a smaller 20-player version.

KitGuru Says: I usually dive into Call of Duty for a little while each year but it doesn't tend to stick with me for very long nowadays. Still, if the new campaign is good, then it might be worth it. Are any of you planning on trying out Modern Warfare while it is in beta? Will you be getting it when it comes out in October?
