At Computex just a few weeks ago, we had the opportunity to catch up with FSP and see what they've got coming up for the rest of 2019. Aside from a foray into PC cases, FSP has new and improved power supplies up for release and the first batch is launching today. The new Dagger Pro PSU will be available starting this month, with a fully modular design and semi-passive cooling.
The Dagger Pro is available in 550W and 650W versions at this point in time. At Computex, Leo pointed out that we've been told that the new Dagger Pro range will be a big improvement compared to the original, which sounds like good news to us and we look forward to testing one at some point.
The Dagger Pro is 80 Plus Gold certified, giving it 90 percent efficiency under load. There is an industrial-grade ball-bearing 92mm fan for cooling but this won't spin up until the system really needs it. This PSU is also fully modular, which is always great for cable management purposes. Other specs include a single +12V rail, Japanese E-Caps for stability and a fully DC-DC design for smooth power delivery.
This is an SFX power supply but if you wanted to put one in a larger ATX-sized system, then you can with the included SFX to ATX mounting bracket. The FSP Dagger Pro 550W will be launching with an MSRP of $119.99 and the 650W version will be $129.99.
KitGuru Says: The new FSP Dagger Pro sounds great on paper, now we'll just have to wait and see what the results say when reviews land. Have any of you used an FSP power supply before? Are you considering getting one at all?
