Corsair’s PCIe 4.0 SSD to launch this month starting at $249 for 1TB

We know that AMD’s 3rd Gen Ryzen processors are on the verge of release, accompanied by the new x570 motherboard chipset. This jump will pave the way for PCI-Express 4.0 and new hardware that takes advantage of the increased speed and bandwidth. The first PCIe 4.0 upgrades we will be seeing come in the form of SSDs, with CORSAIR's new MP600 Gen4 M.2 drive offering speeds up to 4950MB/s in 1TB and 2TB capacities.

The MP600 SSD raises the bar for single-drive performance, with sequential read speeds of up to 4950MB/s, roughly ten times faster than most SATA SSDs. For sequential write speeds, you are looking at performance up to 4250MB/s. This is all brought forward by the increased bandwidth of PCIe 4.0. The Corsair Force MP600 also uses an NVMe interface and high-density 3D TLC NAND, combined with a Phison PS5016-E16 controller.

We got our first look at this SSD during Computex at the end of May, with availability planned for July to coincide with the X570 motherboard launch. According to a US Amazon listing, the 1TB version of this SSD will cost $249.99 while the 2TB version will be $449.99, which doesn't seem too bad considering this is very new technology.

Shipping will apparently begin on the 13th of July but we don't have pricing or availability information for the UK just yet. We will update once we have more information.
