After teasing us with several new character shots and an official poster, Netflix officially debuted the trailer for The Witcher at Comic Con over the weekend. The two-minute preview finally lets us see several key characters in action and gives us a few hints to the story of season one.
The Witcher series will be adapting from the books rather than the games, so you will notice a few design differences for certain characters. Once you get past all of that, the trailer is quite good, introducing a lot of the themes and plot threads that will carry through the whole saga.
The trailer introduces us to the fact that humans and elves have some major issues with each other, Ciri has special powers that can't fall into the wrong hands and Geralt is a true monster hunter for hire before getting swept up in the grander affairs of the world. Yenneffer, Triss and a few others make an appearance and I am fairly sure we see a glimpse of the fight between Geralt and Princess Adda in Striga form.
There is still no specific release date for season one, but it will be eight episodes long and will hit Netflix before the end of the year, likely sometime in December.
KitGuru Says: So far, The Witcher is looking pretty good in my opinion. What do you all think of the trailer? Are you still looking forward to the first season?
