HyperX debuts new Qi wireless charging peripherals and Alloy Origins mechanical keyboard

Qi wireless charging has been a standard for many years now, particularly when it comes to smartphones and mobile accessories. Now, Qi charging technology is becoming more prevalent in the PC space and HyperX is ready to lead the charge with a new suite of wireless gaming peripherals and charging base. That's not all we got to see at Gamescom though, the HyperX Alloy Origins mechanical keyboard is also getting updated with new ‘Aqua' mechanical switches.

The HyperX Cloud Flight S headset, Pulsefire Dart mouse and ChargePlay Base all use Qi wireless charging technology. The ChargePlay base is the centre, using multiple charging spots so that you can charge two Qi enabled devices at once at 10 watts per pad. The ChargePlay Base also has its own battery monitoring screen, so you can see how much juice your devices have without picking them up.

The Cloud Flight S headset offers up to 30 hours of wireless battery life and features custom-tuned HyperX 7.1 virtual surround sound and a built-in game/chat audio mixer. The wireless connection runs on the 2.4Ghz frequency and charging is compatible with any Qi rated wireless charger, so if you have your own wireless charging base, you can use that instead of HyperX's own ChargePlay Base.

The HyperX Pulsefire Dart is the company's first wireless gaming mouse. It uses the Pixart 3389 sensor and comes with three preset DPI settings, coming in at 800 DPI, 1600 DPI and 3200 DPI. Omron switches are used for long lasting, fast clicks, RGB lighting and macro button functions can also be customised using the HyperX NGENUITY software.

Finally, we also have the new HyperX Alloy Origins mechanical gaming keyboard launching this week. HyperX has developed its own mechanical switches, starting off with a linear red switch and a tactile ‘Aqua' switch. The HyperX Red version will be available in October, but we'll be waiting until 2020 to see the Aqua switch in action.

So far, the Hyper X Alloy Origins mechanical keyboard is due to launch in October for £109.99. The Hyper X Cloud Flight S headset will be available in Q1 2020 for $199.99 (we are still waiting on confirmation for EU pricing). The HyperX Pulsefire Dart wireless mouse is coming in September for £109.99 and finally, the ChargePlay Base Qi wireless charger is also coming in September for £59.99.

KitGuru Says: There is a full suite of new HyperX peripherals coming up over the next few months. Are any of you looking to make the jump to Qi wireless devices?
