The folks at be quiet! have been making power supplies for years now and they have improved quite a bit over the years with more options and models to suit different budgets and use-cases. This week, we are seeing the launch of the System Power 9 CM series, which will be semi-modular and cost-effective.
The System Power 9 CM series is an entry-level semi-modular power supply with 80Plus Bronze efficiency certification. There will be several different wattages available, ranging from 400W all the way up to 700W, which is more than enough for a very good gaming PC nowadays thanks to gains in CPU and GPU efficiency.
This is semi-modular so while you can't remove every cable from the unit, you will be able to keep any unnecessary HDD/SSD or PCI-Express cables out of your system, so cable management should still be nice and easy. In terms of noise, the CM variant of this PSU has a lower fan curve, so the 120mm fan shouldn't be too loud at any point.
Other features include DC-to-DC voltage regulation, Over Temperature Protection, integrated protection circuits on the PCB, two independent 12V rails for stable power and a three-year warranty. The be quiet! System Power 9 CM series is available in Europe now, with MSRPs set at €54.90/£46.99 (400W), €64.90/£57.99 (500W), €74.90/£67.99 (600W) and €84.90/£76.99 (700W).
KitGuru Says: A reliable power supply should be the starting point of any good system, so it is always worth looking around. Do any of you currently use a be quiet! power supply in your rig?
