We've known for a couple of years now that a team over at Respawn has been focusing on creating a first-person combat game for virtual reality. The title will be released in partnership with Oculus and while we haven't heard much about the project since its announcement, that will be changing in September.
Oculus Connect is running from the 25th to the 26th of September this year and will come with a bunch of game reveals for Rift and Quest headset owners. This year, it looks like the ‘big reveal' will be Respawn Entertainment's untitled VR game, which was announced back in 2017 with a small teaser.
We still don't know much about the VR game, aside from the fact that it will be an “amazing first person combat experience”. Still, it will be great to see what Respawn can do with virtual reality technology, especially after how great Titanfall 1, 2 and Apex Legends have all been.
KitGuru Says: I've been getting back into VR myself lately, so I'll be looking forward to Respawn's game. I'm not expecting a VR version of Titanfall but I would hope for more than just a couple of hours of gameplay, which is where a few other Triple A studios have fallen.
