IFA 2019: Acer launches new Nitro XV3 monitors with up to 240Hz refresh rates

Today at IFA, Acer unveiled a new lineup of Nitro XV3 monitors, catering to QHD and FHD PC gamers who need blistering fast refresh rates. Each new monitor has a high refresh rate, starting off at 144Hz with options going all the way up to 240Hz.

The Nitro XV3 series is split into four monitors- two 24-inch and two  27-inch. Here is the breakdown:

  • Acer Nitro XV273U S 27-inch QHD 165 Hz
  • Acer Nitro XV273 X 27-inch Full HD 240 Hz
  • Acer Nitro XV253Q X 24.5-inch Full HD 240 Hz
  • Acer Nitro XV253Q P 24.5-inch Full HD 144 Hz

Each of these monitors uses Nvidia G-Sync, so you will get variable refresh rates and tear-free gameplay. The full series also sports IPS panels with low response times in addition to a few of Acer's own enhancement features.

That list includes Visual Response Boost, which can reduce response times all the way down to 1ms. Game Mode settings can also be enabled to adjust colour settings based on the type of game you are playing. Acer VisionCare uses a combination of low-dimming technologies to make the viewing experience more comfortable and less fatiguing on the eyes during long sessions too.

Pricing and availability differs. Currently, we know that the Nitro XV273 X will arrive in Europe in November starting at £399. The Nitro XV253Q X is coming in Q1 2020 for £349 and the Nitro XV253Q P is coming in Q1 2020 for around £269.

KitGuru Says: Lots of new, reasonably priced gaming monitors from Acer today. Are any of you looking to make the jump to a high refresh rate? What do you think of the new Acer models and their pricing?
