Respawn is bringing back Medal of Honor for virtual reality

For a couple of years now, we have known that Respawn Entertainment has been working on a secret VR game for Oculus. Now, we finally know what it is and surprisingly, it is a Medal of Honor game, bringing the long dormant franchise back in new form.

Medal of Honor: Above and Beyond is coming in ‘Summer 2020' and will have players fighting in the WWII era on land, sea and air. There is a single player campaign in addition to several multiplayer modes, so this is shaping up to be a full game for VR headset owners to sink in to. You can view the trailer below:

The game is currently only confirmed for the Oculus Rift, so we don't know if it will get native support for other VR headsets- although there are third party tools you can use to get around that.

Medal of Honor: Above and Beyond will put players in the role of an agent in the Office of Strategic Services, sending them behind enemy lines to sabotage Nazi facilities, subvert enemy plans and aid the French resistance. There is still plenty more to learn about with this game, but we should get more details as we approach the 2020 release window.

KitGuru Says: Medal of Honor finally coming back from the dead is big news, but this is also pretty huge for VR fans. A well-performing studio has built what appears to be a full game in a well-known franchise exclusively for VR. Now we'll just have to wait and see how good it turns out to be.
