Back in June, Bungie made several huge announcements for Destiny 2. Not only are we getting a new expansion, but cross-save is being implemented across all platforms, the base game is going free to play and Destiny 2 will officially be moving over to Steam. This does mean that once the game goes live on Steam, it will no longer be available on Battle.net, so owners can now move their accounts over.
If you own Destiny 2, any of its expansions, yearly passes or Silver currency, then you can move all of that content over from your Battle.net account to your Steam account starting from today. The process is quite easy, all you need to do is make or log in to your bungie account, link your Battle.net account and then from there, you can transfer everything you own and your characters over to Steam.
To make all of this happen, all you need to do is head over to Bungie's PC move page, HERE. On the Bungie website, you can now also link your Xbox Live and PlayStation accounts, which will be needed for cross-save going forward. With everything linked, you can carry your character over between all platforms.
The official move for Destiny 2 to Steam will take place on the 1st of October. At that point, the game will leave Battle.net for good, Shadowkeep will launch and Destiny 2: New Light will be available as a re-worked, free to play version of all year-one content for the game.
KitGuru Says: We don't know how long you will be able to make the move from Battle.net to Steam after launch in October, so it is best to get the process out of the way early. Are many of you planning to jump back into Destiny 2 once it lands on Steam?
