XDefiant has had an interesting development. Published by Ubisoft, the upcoming free-to-play first-person shooter has been received with a great deal of positivity during its many public testing periods. Despite this, the game has suffered from development issues, leading to a bunch of delays. That said, the team are prepping the next server test for this weekend – hopefully being followed up shortly by an official launch.
As reported by Insider Gaming, the next server test for XDefiant is set to begin on the 19th of April. Previously stated to be a 12-hour long session, Insider Gaming is now claiming that the testing period has been extended – now set to take place over the course of the entire weekend.
Assuming all goes well, Insider Gaming is reporting that the final proper release for XDefiant should be announced soon following the test’s conclusion – likely targeting a Summer release.
xDefiant has a lot of potential, and so the news of its development woes came as a bit of a disappointment. That said, hopefully the team are able to sort out their internal issues – ultimately leading to the release of a (hopefully) excellent shooter.
