OnePlus 8 5K renders leak online ahead of OnePlus 7T launch

We are just weeks away from the OnePlus 7T smartphone release, however, even before the 7T has hit the shelves there are already leaks of OnePlus’ next-generation design circling online.

The highly-anticipated OnePlus 7T is several weeks away from release, so, you would naturally think all the focus would be on the upcoming 7T right? Not exactly. Very early leaks of the next generation OnePlus 8 design have already been spotted on Twitter, with 5K renders of the phone popping up.

The images, along with some early specifications and dimensions were leaked via a collaboration between OnLeaks and CashKaro. In the video below, you will see the new ‘punch hole' display, the screen this time around is also curved. The outlet claims that the rendered images are also based on the actual dimensions for the OnePlus 8, using engineering drawings and other leaked documents passed on from an inside source.

As seen in the images, the OnePlus 8 will feature a triple rear camera. According to the source of the leaks, OnePlus will finally roll out wireless charging in the OnePlus 8 too, with a redesigned speaker at the bottom, which should provide a smoother bottom edge to the design.

In terms of dimensions and screen size, the OnePlus 8 is said to measure approximately 160 x 72.9 x 8.1mm (9.3mm including rear camera) and will feature a 6.5-inch curved screen display. Obviously, with leaks of any kind, we must take these with a pinch of salt as design changes could be made as development continues.

KitGuru says: The OnePlus 7T launch event could be a tad awkward now, as the leaked OnePlus 8 design is already spreading far and wide. Were any of you thinking about picking up a OnePlus 7T before the end of this year? Have these leaks got you considering waiting for next year's phones instead?
