Red Dead Redemption 2 should come to PC soon following Australian classification

We are closing in on one year since Red Dead Redemption 2 first launched for Xbox One and PS4. In true Rockstar fashion, a PC version of the game has not been officially confirmed. However, there has been a growing mountain of evidence to suggest that the game is coming. Now, the rumour mill is spinning up again as a new version of the game has been classified in Australia.

Back in August, Rockstar filed a new version of Red Dead Redemption 2 with the Australian Classification Board. However, in an effort to disguise the game, the application was submitted under the codename ‘Bonaire’. Since Rockstar is not releasing a game called Bonaire, that application was rejected. The studio resubmitted its application under the Red Dead Redemption 2, which has now been approved and is listed as separate to the original console release.

The filing doesn’t specifically say PC, but with the game already available and classified for Xbox One and PS4, this new filing would indicate that the game is coming to another platform. There has been some suggestion that it could be for Google Stadia, but the service has not been announced for Australia yet, so we can rule that one out.

It is also worth noting that Rockstar recently released its own PC games launcher, which seemed like a prime set up for Red Dead Redemption 2. Not to mention all the other evidence that has been popping up over the last year.

KitGuru Says: With Red Dead Redemption 2 being assessed by ratings boards, we can assume that the PC launch won’t be too far off. It might not come before the end of this year, but early 2020 seems like a good bet.
