AMD announces worldwide availability of Ryzen PRO CPUs designed for enterprise systems

AMD has today announced the global availability of its new Ryzen PRO 3000 series of desktop processors, with part of the line-up available with integrated Radeon graphics. Ryzen PRO is designed for enterprise systems and will be coming in Q4 2019.

Following on from a story we reported on just last week about Ryzen PRO CPU’s being in the making, AMD has today confirmed those rumours by announcing its new line up of Ryzen 3000 PRO CPU’s. Some customers have already got their hands on them too, with enterprise systems from HP and Lenovo being among the first.

The new Pro CPU’s aim offer highly competitive performance for commercial and small business desktop systems. The Pro line up offers a range of CPUs including Ryzen 9 PRO 3900, Ryzen 7 PRO 3700 and a Ryzen 5 PRO 3600 based on AMD’s 7nm ‘Zen' 2 core architecture.

The list continues with more CPUs having integrated Radeon graphics, and these include AMD Ryzen Pro 5 3400G, Ryzen PRO 5 3400GE, Ryzen Pro 3200G and Ryzen Pro 3200GE.

Every AMD Ryzen Pro CPU contains a powerful built-in security co-processor which runs AMD GuardMI technology, dedicated to helping protect user’s PC’s. AMD memory Guard will help defend against cold boot attacks with full system memory encryption. The AMD technology will support OEM security features including Windows Security, Lenovo ThinkShield and HP Sure Start an among others.

As we previously reported, the Ryzen 9 PRO 3900 will offer a 65 W TDP, 12 cores and 24 threads with a base frequency of 3.1 GHz and will boost up to 4.3 GHz. The Ryzen PRO 3700 will also offer 65 W TDP but with 8 cores and 16 threads with a 3.6 GHz base and up to 4.4 GHz boost clock. Finally a Ryzen 5 Pro will be a 6 core 12 thread CPU with a 3.6ghz/4.2 base/boost frequency.

Along with the announcement of the Ryzen PRO CPU’s, AMD also announced a series of Athlon PRO CPU’s featuring integrated Radeon graphics. Up to now we only know of one CPU in this series, which is the AMD Athlon Pro 300GE offering a 3.4 GHz clock frequency, 2 cores and 4 threads with a 35 W TDP.

KitGuru says: AMD has had a great year so far with 3rd Gen Ryzen processors and it looks like things aren't slowing down. Ryzen PRO is heading to enterprise systems and soon, we'll also be seeing the launches for the Ryzen 9 3950X and 3rd Gen Threadripper.
