As expected, last night's PlayStation ‘State of Play' stream brought along new announcements for The Last of Us Part II. There is a new 3-minute gameplay trailer, in addition to a release date announcement, which is set for February 2020.
The Last of Us Part II was first announced in late 2016 and reappeared in 2018 with new footage. Sony did not appear at E3 this year, so we weren't sure when we would get more news, although various leaks over the last week seemed to indicate that a new trailer and release date announcement was imminent. You can see the new trailer below:
The Last of Us Part II is coming out on the 21st of February 2020, continuing the journey for Joel and Ellie five years after the events of the first game. This time around, players will be controlling Ellie instead of Joel, with part of the story focusing on a mysterious cult operating in the post-apocalyptic US.
That is all we have for now, but it looks like the PS4 generation will be sent off with a bang as we approach the PlayStation 5's 2020 launch.
KitGuru Says: The Last of Us Part II is bound to be one of the most highly anticipated games of the generation. Are many of you planning on picking this one up in February?
