Leaked Zotac images could prove the GTX 1660 Super is coming

Although there has been no official confirmation from Nvidia that the Super series will actually make an appearance under the 1660 brand, it is looking more and more likely every day, with new leaks coming thick and fast.

A website post recently by the guys over at Videocardz may be the biggest indication yet that the 1660 Super is not just a figment of our imagination. A leak on the Videocardz website shows what looks like the first official images of a GTX 1660 Super card from Zotac.

Nvidia is expected to ship the GTX 1660 Super with a boost clock frequency of 1785 MHz, which is higher than the GTX 1660 Ti and features GDDR6 memory. With the exception of the memory upgrade, the GTX 1660 Super is rumoured to carry over the same main specs as the GeForce GTX 1660, as it is based on the Turing (TU116) architecture and has 1408 CUDA cores.

The original Nvidia GTX 1660 used GDDR5 with a frequency clocked at 2000 MHz, whereas the GTX 1660 Super is expected to use GDDR6 with a clock frequency operating at 1750 MHz under a 192-bit memory bus. It is possible that GTX 1660 Super could deliver higher memory bandwidth – somewhere in the region of 336 GBps is expected, compared to the 192 GBps of the GTX 1660, which would provide a 75% increase in bandwidth.

The images posted by Videocardz claim to show both the regular and AMP versions from Zotac of the upcoming GeForce GTX 1660 Super. Visually, the Zotac 1660 Super cards look very similar to their non-super counterparts. Without the Super logo on the box, we could be fooled into thinking these are just the regular non-super cards.

The GTX 1660 Super cards are expected to launch sometime this month. However, with nothing official coming from Nvidia still, this is all just rumours for now.
