Final update: this competition is now closed and winners have been announced. Thanks for entering!
Update: This competition was originally scheduled to end on Friday the 27th of September. Unfortunately, when we went to pick winners today we ran into a technical issue and discovered that previous entries had been wiped. We are still investigating exactly what happened but due to this error, we are re-running this competition for a bit longer. We sincerely apologise for this error and the inconvenience of having to enter again. We have been running tests and have confirmed that email entry is working properly again. If you previously entered, we invite you to enter again.
Please see all of the competition details and entry form below. The competition will now end on Friday the 11th of October and we will announce the winners within 7 days of closing.
Original Post: 2019 has already been a huge year for AMD with new CPU and GPU launches. to help mark the occasion, we are teaming up with them to put the AMD Radeon PRO graphics cards under the spotlight, with a giveaway for THREE Radeon WX-series GPUs.
We are giving away three Radeon PRO graphics cards this month- the Radeon Pro WX 8200, Radeon Pro WX 7100 and a Radeon Pro WX 5100. The WX 7100 and WX 5100 are both Polaris-based GPUs while the WX 8200 is based on the Vega architecture and carries 8GB of HBM2 memory.
Here is a quick breakdown of the specs:
GPU | Compute Units & Stream Processors | FP32 compute performance | Memory | Memory Bandwidth | TDP
Radeon Pro WX 8200 | 56/3584 | 10.75 TFLOPS | 8GB HMB2 | 512GB/s | 230W
Radeon Pro WX 7100 | 36/2304 | 5.73 TFLOPS | 8GB GDDR5 | 224GB/s | 130W
Radeon Pro WX 5100 | 28/1792 | 3.89 TFLOPS | 8GB GDDR5 | 160GB/s | 75W |
Why would someone opt for a ‘Pro' graphics card over a gaming-oriented equivalent? The quick and easy answer to that is stability and optimisation. Editors, animators, modellers etc all require a GPU and driver package that is optimised for their work apps without fear of crashing while exporting, rendering or just making some final adjustments to a project. A Radeon Pro GPU could run games, but the optimisation focus is really placed on apps like Adobe Premiere Pro and After Effects, Autodesk, Maxon Cinema 4D, Avid Media Composer, BlackMagic Davinci Resolve etc. All of these apps are also designed to take full advantage of the GPU compute performance available, so those extra TFLOPS are going to matter more in the long run.
To enter this competition, you will need to complete the contact form below, answering the question fields and submitting your entry. If you have trouble answering any questions, then you should find the information you need on the Radeon Pro WX 8200, Radeon Pro WX 7100 or Radeon Pro WX 5100 pages. We also know that the question about AMD's shade of blue is a little tricky to answer, so we have included a link straight to AMD's announcement for it, HERE.
*The subject line should be ‘I want to win a Radeon PRO GPU!'
This competition is open from Monday the 26th of August until the 27th of September (UPDATE: Due to a technical issue detailed above, this competition has been extended until the 11th of October). This competition is open worldwide. We will pick and announce three winners on KitGuru.net and social media within one week of the competition closing date. Once the winners have been announced and contacted, email entries will be deleted, we value your privacy.
KitGuru Says: Thanks to AMD for partnering up with us for this competition and good luck to everyone entering! We will be back later to announce the winners.
