Alphacool releases new GPU blocks for RX 5700/XT graphics cards

Custom water-cooling supplier Alphacool has announced some new products for AMD Radeon RX 5700 and 5700 XT graphics cards. New custom full-cover water blocks for the 5700 series of graphics cards are now available from the Alphacool store, with support for a range of third party cards.

Three new full cover water blocks are available covering a selection of custom cards, including Sapphire, Powercolor and MSI. The water blocks will be compatible with both the 5700 and 5700 XT versions from Powercolor and MSI with the Sapphire version compatible with the 5700 XT Nitro+.

The new water blocks are named Alphacool Eisblock Aurora Plexi GPX-A. The first will be compatible with the Radeon 5700 XT Sapphire Nitro+, featuring digital RGB lighting on a nickel-plated copper block with new patented screw plugs installed. Alphacool says the new designs will offer significant performance compared to previous generations.

A further Eisblock Aurora Plexi GPX-A will offer compatibility for a range of 5700/5700 XT Powercolor Red Devil cards. This is interesting as we recently saw an image from Powercolor offering their own Liquid Devil which seems to be a Red Devil with their own liquid cooling solution from EK. The Alphacool design for the Powercolor Red Devil will feature the same nickel-plated copper block and digital RGB lighting as the Sapphire version.

Alphacool has also developed a version of the new Eisblock Aurora Plexi GPX-A which will support MSI Radeon 5700 and 5700 XT Gaming X cards, again this design will feature the nickel-plated block and digital RGB lighting and patented screw plugs as the others.

During development of the Eisblock Aurora Plexi GPX-A water blocks, Alphacool wanted to further increase performance. This has been achieved by moving the cooler closer to the graphics cards components, by reducing the thickness of the thermal pads to 1mm and trimming down the copper block, reducing thickness from 7mm to 5.5mm, with the water flow paths being optimised too.

The new design ensures all important components including the voltage regulators and memory are now significantly better cooled, which ensures higher performance. The Eisblock Aurora Plexi GPX-A has an emphasis on lighting. Addressable RGB LEDs are embedded directly into the entire length of the block to fully illuminate it. The design has a more angular aesthetic, with all edges bevelled which promotes better light diffusion due to reflections in the bevels.

All the new Eisblock Aurora Plexi GPX-A solutions can be purchased from the Alphacool store with prices starting from €109.94.

KitGuru says: It's good to see Alphacool is extending its range to cover new products. Owners of Radeon 5700 series cards now have the opportunity to water-cool their cards, which is great news for anyone who wants to extract maximum performance.

Black Ops 6 is officially here, bringing the innovative new Omni-movement system to the game. While on the surface a relatively simple change, I argue that Treyarch intimately studied DOOM and the past 30 years of first-person shooter evolution to craft one of the most satisfying gameplay systems yet.
