New Xbox system update brings enhanced personalisation

Microsoft releases new software updates for its Xbox consoles at a regular cadence, adding both small and large changes alike. June’s system update brings improvements to customisation, network switching and more.

Making the announcement on the Xbox Wire blog, June’s Xbox update includes new features across the Xbox Series of consoles, cloud gaming and PC.

Rolling out right now, those with an Xbox Series X|S can now personalise their home screens further, with the ability to set a dynamic background while also whitelisting certain games to instead show their specific artwork when hovering over the selected titles.

Other notable console improvements include the ability to save up to 10 different WIFI connections for easy switching; you can now manage your subscriptions directly from the console itself – and for some – Microsoft is also testing the ability to find people using console search; adding additional information to search card results as well as some tweaks being made to Game Pass’ page layout.

For those on PC who use the Xbox app, you will now be able to access a submenu dedicated to Game Pass for easier navigation.

Finally, Cloud players now have the ability to manage their game data and cloud saves – alongside the option to connect a mouse and keyboard for games which support the functionality.
