AMD is working on “cool differentiators” for next-gen Ryzen processors with 3D V-Cache

AMD's Ryzen 7 7800X3D has proven to be a resounding success for the company. Following its debut, it quickly became the top-selling CPU. With the Ryzen 9000 series coming soon, AMD is expected to launch a new set of X3D processors that enhance performance beyond the standard chips thanks to 3D V-Cache technology. While Ryzen 9000 X3D has not yet been announced, AMD is making it pretty clear that it will be on the way.

During a conversation with PCGamer at Computex, AMD Senior Technical Marketing Manager, Donny Woligroski, confirmed that a new generation of X3D processors are on the way and from the sounds of it, they'll also provide significant improvements over past generations.

“The X3D stuff, we have a lot to say about it. The best part about it is we're not just resting on laurels. We're improving what we can do with X3D, it's really exciting and I'm super looking forward to talking to people about that”, Woligroski said. “We are working actively on really cool differentiators to make it even better. We're working on X3D, we're improving it.”

Unfortunately, there are no technical specifics yet but we hope to learn more in a few months time. The first batch of Ryzen 9000 desktop processors are launching in July, so the first X3D SKU could be ready in time for an early 2025 launch.
