As if Razer's product portfolio wasn't big enough, back in January at CES, the Razer Raptor gaming monitor was announced. Now, it's available for purchase and looks as impressive as it did back then.
The gaming peripherals market has some big players, and Razer is one of them, but up until now the company had stayed away from the monitor market, as reported by Windows Central.
That changed with the release of Razer Raptor: a 27-inch “non-glare WQHD IPS display” with a 144Hz refresh rate, covering 95% of the DCI-P3 colour gamut and certified for HDR400 with a 10-Bit dimming processor. The contrast ratio is listed as 1000:1 and the MBR response time as 1 ms. It also supports AMD's FreeSync, and it should also be compatible with Nvidia G-Sync thanks to the ‘G-Sync Compatible' program.
The monitor has Razer Chroma RGB lighting built into stand, programmable with Razer Synapse 3. At its back, there's a “built-in CNC cable management system” with flat USB cables for clean cable routing. There's a total of 4 USB cables: 2x USB-C supporting power delivery and 2x USB3.2 Gen 1. On the connectivity topic, we have 1x DisplayPort 1.4 and 1x HDMI 2.0a. To easily access the ports, the monitor has a 90º tilt and height adjustments.
There's no date or price for a UK or EU release yet, but it's available now in the US on the official website for $699.99.
