Asus announce the TUF Gaming VG249Q monitor

When choosing the perfect PC gaming monitor, hardcore gamers will be looking for a display that fulfils certain criteria. High refresh rate and low response time is a must-have for competitive gamers these days. The new TUF gaming monitor from Asus provides these features and more.

Asus has launched the VG249Q TUF Gaming monitor to bolster the range which already provides an extensive choice of sizes, including 35” UltraWide, 32”, 27” and 25” variants. The Asus TUF Gaming VG249Q adds a 23.8” viewable display with high refresh rate and low response time, to provide competitive and esports gamers with another option.

The TUF Gaming VG249Q features some impressive specs along with its Full HD 1920×1080 resolution panel. A high refresh rate of 144Hz will suit professional gamers looking for smooth, fast-paced gameplay, as well as added support for AMD Freesync technology which eliminates screen tearing and choppy frame rates.

Asus has added Extreme Low Motion Blur technology (ELMB) in the TUF Gaming VG249Q. ELMB is a form of backlight strobing which is designed to greatly reduce screen blur with minimal side effects, by switching the backlight off between monitor refreshes to greatly improve performance in fast-paced games.

An IPS panel is used in the Asus TUF Gaming VG249Q, featuring an ultra-low 1ms (MPRT) refresh rate and Shadow Boost technology, which enhances image details in dark areas. An ergonomically designed stand, incorporating full height, tilt, swivel and pivot adjustment has been included in the VG249Q to ensure users can position the monitor exactly to their preference.

The TUF Gaming VG249Q also includes 250 cd/m² maximum brightness, dynamic mega-contrast, and TUV Rheinland-certified flicker-free brightness adjustment, along with DisplayPort, HDMI and D-Sub connectivity. Asus has not confirmed pricing or availability just yet. However, we will be sure to update you guys once these details are announced.

KitGuru says: It looks like the Asus TUF Gaming VG249Q could have the perfect recipe to be a big hit with fast-paced competitive gamers. High refresh rate and low response times are a must when it comes to fast action shooters and such like.
