New teaser images show off more of Netflix’s The Witcher

We are nearing the final two months of the year, which also means that Netflix will be announcing a release date for The Witcher any day now. The most recent leaks hint at a new trailer dropping soon and a December 17th release for the series. In the meantime though, Netflix has begun teasing with new images from the show, giving us another look at some of the sets, locations, characters and even one of the monsters.

The images come to us via i09, with credit going to Netflix. You can see them all in the gallery below:

One of the images shows off a beast talon, presumably belonging to something Geralt just killed and is now carrying tied up on horse back. You can see rope around the beast’s leg, with the other leg in frame being a horse leg. Given that Netflix is likely going to have some design changes for monsters in The Witcher series compared to the games, it is hard to say for sure exactly what monster this could be. Some speculate that this is a griffin talon, while others think it could be the claw of a Kikimora.

The next image is more of a behind-the-scenes look at filming, showing of citizens of one of the cities going about their daily business while four children are staring at something on the ground. The key thing that stands out to me here is the location itself, with high stone walls and common folk. It reminds me of Novigrad in The Witcher 3, although this could just as easily be Vizima or one of the other cities.

The third image teases a major battle as part of the on-going war between Temeria and Nilfgaard. The soldier wearing the silly looking crinkled armour is from Nilfgaard.

The fourth image is my favourite by far. Here, we see Geralt stood at a bar in a tavern and fully geared up. It almost looks like this scene in particular could have been pulled straight out of The Witcher 3.

Meanwhile, the fourth and fifth images show off Yennefer and Ciri respectively. Yennefer is looking good and appears to be doing some sorceress stuff while Ciri is off on a journey through snowy wilderness on her own.

The final two images show off Geralt again. Once in full armour and riding through the woods with Roach- another excellent looking scene. The final image is Geralt having a quick sword fight inside a castle hall. He’s not in armour, suggesting that he didn’t enter this situation with plans to fight anyone.

We should be getting a full trailer for The Witcher at some point in November, while the series should be out before Christmas. Netflix is ramping up the teasing again, so we won’t be waiting much longer for more announcements.

KitGuru Says: I enjoyed the teaser trailer but these images have given me a lot more hope for the series. Geralt in full armour looks great and some of the sets/locations look exactly how I imagined. Now all that’s left to do is wait for more details. What do you all think of the new Witcher teaser images? Are you looking forward to the full series?

KitGuru Games: Omni-movement culminates 30 years of FPS innovation

Black Ops 6 is officially here, bringing the innovative new Omni-movement system to the game. While on the surface a relatively simple change, I argue that Treyarch intimately studied DOOM and the past 30 years of first-person shooter evolution to craft one of the most satisfying gameplay systems yet.
