AMD Radeon graphics driver update adds support for Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order

As usual, October and November have been packed with big video game releases, which has also meant a bunch of GPU driver updates for PC players. This week's highlight is Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order, which is now available on Steam and Origin. Nvidia pushed out its own ‘Game Ready' driver earlier this week and last night, AMD also released its own launch-day driver.

Radeon Software Adrenalin 19.11.2 is now available to download, adding in support for Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order. The new update also fixes an issue with PUBG, addressing stutter and major performance dips in some areas of the map.

AMD is always good with transparency on known issues that may be experienced with each driver update. While the PUBG performance issue has been fixed in this latest update, there are some lingering bugs that will be addressed in future updates. Here is the current ‘known issues' list:

  • Radeon RX 5700 series GPUs may intermittently experience loss of display or video signal during gameplay.
  • Radeon RX 5700 series GPUs may experience stutter in some games at 1080p and low game settings.
  • Performance Metrics Overlay may cause stutter or screen flashing on some applications.
  • Toggling HDR may cause system instability during gaming when Radeon ReLive is enabled.
  • AMD Radeon VII may experience elevated memory clocks at idle or on desktop.
  • Performance Metrics Overlay may report incorrect VRAM utilisation.
  • Invoking Radeon Overlay may cause games to lose focus or become minimised when HDR is enabled within Windows.

Some of these problems have persisted for a while, so hopefully fixes won't be too far off at this point, particularly since the gaming launch calendar is starting to ease off for the holiday season.

KitGuru Says: I put about 20 minutes into Jedi Fallen Order last night just to get a feel for how the game runs on PC. So far, it seems to be shaping up quite well, although the graphics options are fairly basic. Are any of you picking this game up for the weekend? If you've played it already, how are you finding performance so far on the latest drivers?
