MSI announce its GTX 16 Super series cards

An announcement earlier this week from Nvidia regarding its GTX 1660 Super release has triggered graphics card manufacturers to lay out their own custom card versions for all to see. MSI has provided information on its GTX 16 series refresh with new GTX 1660 and 1650 Super versions being announced.

MSI has confirmed its new range of GTX 16 series cards will feature custom versions of both the GTX 1660 and 1650 Super across three product brands, including its Gaming, Ventus XS and Aero ITX series. The new Turing based cards will be equipped with excellent cooling solutions and are designed to produce higher core/memory frequencies to provide increased performance in games.

The 7th generation Twin Frozr thermal design has been tailored to cool the MSI GTX 16 Super series Gaming cards and will feature MSI’s patented TORX 3.0 fans, to provide high static pressure airflow while reducing noise levels. Customised heatsinks are designed with efficient heat dissipation in mind while providing an aggressive aesthetic, with the gunmetal grey and black colour scheme and a glow of Mystic Light RGB.

MSI’s GTX 16 series Ventus XS is a trimmed down version of the popular Ventus cards, featuring a fashionable black and silver design with sharp angles. A tried and tested twin fan solution is deployed in the Ventus XS line to provide a more concentrated airflow path and high static pressure, for enhanced cooling performance. The backplate on the Ventus XS features a brushed finish for an attractive appearance.

The MSI GTX 16 Super Aero ITX cards are designed to fit small form factor systems where space is at a premium. The Aero ITX cards measure a maximum 178mm long so are small in size but still offer big performance. The Aero ITX model features a single fan cooling solution on a compact heatsink design, with efficient heat pipes and optimised dissipation. A classy looking black and white shroud provides a pleasing appearance with carbon highlights.

The new GTX 1660 Super graphics cards from MSI are available now, with the GTX 1650 Super series expected to be available starting from 22nd November.
