Antec updates the Dark Phantom case series with a white version

Antec has announced a new PC gaming case is being added to its range. The new design will not be following Antec’s usual wacky creations and features a rather subtle approach with a more traditional layout.

The new case is more of a refresh rather than a brand-new design which updates one of its current chassis with a white version. Antec’s Dark Phantom DP501 will now be available in a not so dark variant, with the new model featuring an all-white approach.

Antec claims the white version of the DP501 delivers a combination of understated gaming looks with versatile build options at an affordable price. The white aesthetics should appeal to gamers and enthusiasts that prefer a function appearance that will fit in with the surrounding environment. The case features an ARGB “blade” design on the front panel to give it the gaming look.

The subtle design of the DP501 White features mesh areas to improve systematic airflow and includes a robust cooling system with four pre-installed 120mm white fans, with a rear fan that has integrated white LED lighting. There is additional space inside the chassis for a further two 120mm fans or two 140mm fans in the top.

Antec’s DP501 supports ATX, ITX and Micro-ATX motherboards, along with graphics cards up to 360mm long and power supplies with a maximum length of 160mm. The DP501 White offers space for either two 2.5” or 3.5” HDDs, four 2.5” SSDs and seven PCIe expansion slots. Antec has provided space to install a 360mm radiator in the front and a up to a 280mm radiator in the top panel.

Magnetic dust filters are pre-installed in the top and bottom of the case which can be easily removed to increase airflow of for maintenance. A tinted tempered glass panel takes up the left-hand side of the case with the front bezel housing two USB 3.0 ports, audio jacks and buttons for power, reset and a lighting mode button to control the front panel RGB lighting.

The Antec DP501 White will be available in the U.S soon with a retail price of $84.99. UK pricing and availability is yet to be confirmed by Antec.

KitGuru says: The Antec DP501 White looks quite an attractive design, although I wonder how it handles with cooling performance with its rather closed looking front panel. What do you guys think?
