ViewSonic's most recent addition to the VP series is the VP2785-2K monitor. According to the company, this display is aimed at creative professionals who need colour accuracy for their work.
The ViewSonic VP2785-2K is a 27-inch monitor, with an IPS panel carrying a 2560×1440 resolution with a 60Hz refresh-rate. The display is coated with a matte anti-glare screen surface, and has a contrast ratio of 1000:1, 5ms GtG response time, and 178°/178° horizontal/vertical viewing angles. Colour-wise, it supports 10-bit (8-bit + FRC) with a 14-bit 3D LUT. The monitor comes factory calibrated, with an average DeltaE <2 for all the compatible colour spaces: sRGB, Adobe RGB, and DCI-P3.
The display can cover 100% of the Adobe RGB colour gamut and 96% of the DCI-P3 colour gamut. The screen luminance variance is less than 5% thanks to “ViewSonic’s uniformity correction”, while the maximum luminance is 300 cd/m². The “dual color engine” on the monitor, enables the user to see the same photo on two different colour gamuts, “virtually combining the work of two monitors into one.” There's also the Flicker-Free and Blue-Light Filter technologies, with TUV certification, for the health of the user's eyes.
For connectivity, we have 3x USB 3.1 Type-A, 1x USB 3.1 Type-B, 1x USB 3.1 Type-C, 1x 3.5mm Audio out jack, 1x HDMI 1.4, 1x Display Port 1.2, and another Display Port 1.2 out.
Another interesting feature is the KVM switch inside the monitor. Through USB 3.1 Type-C and a set of peripherals (mouse and keyboard), you can control and view multiple systems. You can also daisy chain the monitor and other compatible ones from the Type-C and Display Port.
Regarding the monitor's adjustment capacities, it can be height adjusted, swivelled, tilted, and rotated 90º left or right. It is VESA compatible with the 100 x 100mm standard.
The ViewSonic VP2785-2K will be available in the US for $660.99. There are no price or availability details for a UK/EU release yet.
