Nvidia Hotfix driver addresses Red Dead Redemption 2 stalling issue

Those of you that have been experiencing graphical stuttering and stalling issues with Red Dead Redemption 2 will be glad to hear that Nvidia has released a Hotfix driver update to combat the problem.

Only just at the weekend, we found out that Rockstar Games had issued a temporary workaround solution for the graphical stuttering problem that has been affecting users with four/six-core CPUs and Nvidia graphics cards in Red Dead Redemption 2. Nvidia has now released a Hotfix driver update that should resolve the issue permanently.

The Nvidia GeForce Hotfix display driver 441.34 is based on the latest Game Ready Driver 441.20 and also includes a game crash fix for Shadow of the Tomb Raider when launching in DirectX 12 mode. Other than these two fixes, the rest of the detail in the driver’s changelog is identical to the 441.20 Game Ready driver.

This latest Nvidia Hotfix driver addresses the following issues:

  • [Red Dead Redemption 2] Vulkan: Stalling on some systems with 4-core and 6-core CPUs
  • [Shadow of the Tomb Raider] Game may crash when launched in DX12 mode.

The Nvidia Hotfix driver is ready to download now from the official Nvidia support pages and is available in both Windows 10 standard and DCH driver versions.
