ASRock announces Mars Series mini PCs

ASRock announced its new range of mini PCs, the Mars Series. These new compact PCs are targeted at users with limited space requirements that want a computing device with a small footprint.

The ASRock Mars Series of mini PCs come in three models, each with a different processor: the Intel Core i5-8265U (4C8T, Turbo 3.9GHz), the Intel Core i3-8145U (2C4T, Turbo 3.9GHz) and the Intel Celeron 4205U (2C2T, 1.8GHz). All of the models come with a “integrated proprietary fansink” that makes less than 24dB of noise when the PC is idle.

The chassis has a 0.74-litre capacity and measures 191mm x 150mm x 26mm (WxDxH). There's an SD card reader, 1x USB 3.2 Gen1 Type-C port, 2x USB 3.2 Gen1 Type-A ports, and 2x USB 2.0 ports on the front panel. On the back there's 1x D-Sub (1920×1080) co-layout with HDMI, 1x HDMI (4K@30Hz) co-layout with DisplayPort, 2x USB 3.1 Gen1 Type-A ports, 1x RJ45 Gigabit LAN, and 2x audio jacks, one for the microphone and another one for playback devices.

 

On the inside, there's 1x M.2 slot for Wi-Fi + Bluetooth Module, and 2x RAM slots for a maximum of 32GB DDR4 SO-DIMM memory, 2400MHz for the Intel Core models and 2133MHz for the Celeron model. Regarding connectors, there's 1x 4-Pin CPU fan connector, 1x 19V power connector and 2x COM port headers.

Both Intel i5 and i3 models come with a M.2 2280 PCIe Gen3 x4 & SATA 6Gb, while the Celeron model comes with a M.2 2280 PCIe Gen2 x4 & SATA 6Gb. There's also a 2.5-inch SATA 6Gb SSD/HDD Tray in the three models.

The chassis is VESA mount compatible so it can be installed in the back of a VESA mount compatible monitor.
