While an initial PC system requirement announcement for Homeworld 3 happened last year, the game has gone through a few extra months of development since then. Now, the developers have revealed the revised and final PC system requirements for this long-awaited Space RTS.
Homeworld 3 will support ray tracing, but only for shadows, so we won't see features like RT reflections or AO. The game will support HDR though, so if you have a HDR-capable monitor, you'll see a wider range of colours and brighter highlights to make the image pop. The game will also support DLSS 2 and FSR 2 and will be optimised for Intel Arc graphics cards as well.
Here are the PC system requirements:
Minimum | Recommended | Ultra | |
---|---|---|---|
Graphics preset | Low | Medium | Epic |
Resolution | 1080p | 1080p | 4K |
GPU | Intel Arc A380, GeForce GTX 1060 or Radeon R9 480 | Intel Arc A580, GeForce GTX 1080 Ti or Radeon RX 5700 | Nvidia GeForce RTX 3080 or AMD Radeon RX 6900 XT |
CPU | Intel Core i5-6700 or AMD Ryzen 5 1600X | Intel Core i5-9600K or AMD Ryzen 5 3600X | Intel Core i7-12700K or AMD Ryzen 7 7700X |
RAM | 12GB | 16GB | 16GB |
Graphics card VRAM | 6GB | 8GB | 12GB |
Storage | 40GB HDD | 40GB HDD | 40GB HDD |
Operating system | Windows 10 /11 64-bit | Windows 10 /11 64-bit | Windows 10 /11 64-bit |
If you are looking to play with ray-tracing enabled, you will want at least an RTX 30 series or RX 6000 series graphics card. A newer generation RTX 40 or RX 7000 graphics card should be able to handle ray-tracing settings even better.
After several delays, Homeworld 3 is finally due to come out on the 13th of May.
