Resident Evil 3 remake leaks via PSN ahead of official announcement

Resident Evil 2 Remake has been lauded as one of the best games of the year and it looks like Capcom wants to keep things rolling with a remake for Resident Evil 3. Given the success of RE 2, another remake seemed like a sure thing. A couple of weeks ago, one notable leaker claimed the game would be coming in 2020 and now, a new leak from the PlayStation Network has confirmed that a Resident Evil 3 Remake announcement is imminent.

The most likely time for the official announcement to take place is during The Game Awards later this month. However, thanks to an update to the PlayStation Network's backend, we already have cover art for the game, confirming its existence and showing off some of the new character designs.

In the gallery above you can see the images for the Japanese, international and ‘Z Edition' versions of Resident Evil 3 Remake. Nemesis looks even scarier than back in the day, while Jill Valentine and Carlos Oliveira also have reworked looks.

The Game Awards takes place on the 13th of December, so we should expect an announcement then. We don't know exactly when the game will release but hopefully we'll get a narrower release window during the official announcement.

KitGuru Says: Resident Evil 2 Remake was fantastic, so it is going to be great to see Resident Evil 3 given the same treatment. From there, we can hope that a Resident Evil 4 remake is also on the cards, although I expect we'll see Resident Evil 8 first.
