BenQ announces the PD3420Q Designer Monitor

Following the growing ultrawide monitor trend, BenQ is expanding its DesignVue lineup with the BenQ PD3420Q Designer Monitor, aimed at multimedia professionals and content creators who need accurate colour representation for their work.

On the outside, the PD3420Q is similar to the latest PD models from BenQ, with a borderless design and inner black bezels, and a brushed metal stand. On the back, the monitor is matte black plastic. Besides the standard buttons to navigate through the monitor's OSD, there's also the Hotkey Puck G2 wire controller included.

The monitor comes with a 34-inch IPS panel with a 60Hz refresh rate, 3440×1440 resolution (21:9), and a 5ms G2G (grey-to-grey) response time. According to pcmonitors.info, it's probably a 10-bit LG Display Nano IPS panel. The display's coating is light matte anti-glare, and the contrast ratio is 1000:1.

Like most IPS panels, it has wide viewing angles of 178º. The display comes factory calibrated with an average DeltaE of ≤3 and covers 98% of the DCI-P3 colour gamut, and 100%sRGB in the emulation mode, thanks to the employed “enhanced phosphor flicker-free WLED backlight”. The maximum luminance is 350 cd/m², but it can be increased to 400 cd/m² with HDR, as it's a VESA Certified DisplayHDR 400.

There are a set of LBL (Low Blue Light) options to configure, and PbP (Picture by Picture) is supported, up to 4 parts. As with other PD monitors, there's ICCSync for ICC profile synchronisation between the monitor and the computer, using BenQ's DisplayPilot.

Regarding connectivity, the monitor has 1x DisplayPort 1.4 port, 2x HDMI 2.0 ports, and 3x USB 3.1 ports on the bottom and 1x USB Type-C port (DP alt mode), a 3.5mm audio jack and 1x USB 3.1 port on the left side. There are 2x 2.5 sound speakers included, as well.

The stand can tilt, swivel, and its height is adjustable by 150mm. The monitor is 100mm × 100mm VESA compatible.
