G.Skill expands its DDR4 memory lineup for HEDT platforms

G.Skill has announced its new quad-channel memory kits for HEDT platforms, both Intel X299 and AMD TRX40, with capacities of 64GB DDR4 RAM and 256GB DDR4 RAM. The 256GB memory kits use high-density 32GB modules, maximising the amount of RAM in your system.

There is a total of four memory kits announced by G.Skill, with more to come. Two of these were designed for Intel X299, focusing on the modules speed – 4000MHz. On the other hand, the other two kits were designed for the AMD TRX40 platform with low-latency modules.

The DDR4-4000 CL15-16-16-36 64 GB (8GBx8) memory specification, combines high speed with low-latency in 64GB memory kit ” for ultimate memory performance”, at 1.50V. This kit was validated using an Intel Core i9-10900X processor on an ASUS ROG RAMPAGE VI EXTREME ENCORE and an MSI Creator X299, designed for high-performance workstations.

The 256GB memory kit engineered for Intel X299 is an 8 module DDR4-4000 CL18-22-22-42 kit, at 1.35V, ideal for “memory hungry applications.” This kit validation was made with Intel Core i9-9920X and i9-9820X CPUs, paired with the MSI Creator X299 and ASUS PRIME X299-DELUXE II motherboards, respectively.

For the TRX40 platform, G.Skill designed a DDR4-3600 CL14-15-15-35 low-latency specification, at 1.45V for 64GB (8GBx8) TridentZ Neo memory kits. The validation process was made with the recently released AMD Ryzen Threadripper 3960X processor and the new ASUS ROG Zenith II Extreme motherboard.

As for the 256GB memory kit for the AMD HEDT platform, there's a DDR4-3600 CL16-19-19-39 256 GB (32GBx8) specification, at 1.40V. Just as the previous kit, it was validated using an AMD Ryzen Threadripper 3960X processor and the new ASUS ROG Zenith II Extreme motherboard.

All of these memory kits come with support for XMP 2.0, and will be available later this year.

KitGuru Games: Omni-movement culminates 30 years of FPS innovation

Black Ops 6 is officially here, bringing the innovative new Omni-movement system to the game. While on the surface a relatively simple change, I argue that Treyarch intimately studied DOOM and the past 30 years of first-person shooter evolution to craft one of the most satisfying gameplay systems yet.
