Over the last few weeks, the annual Steam Awards have been open for votes, with millions of Steam players voting on games to be nominated across eight categories. Now, Valve is planning on revealing the nominees for each category, albeit slowly, all in an effort to build up to the Steam Winter sale, which now has a confirmed start date.
There are eight categories in this year's Steam Awards including: Game of the Year, VR Game of the Year, Labor of Love, Better with Friends, Most Innovative Gameplay, Outstanding Story-Rich Game, Best Game You Suck At and Outstanding Visual Style.
Voting for games to be included in each of these categories is now closed and Valve will begin revealing the nominees each day leading up to the 19th of December- the same day the Steam Winter sale goes live.
When the Steam Winter sale goes live, you will also be able to vote on selected nominees in each category to win The Steam Awards. When the Steam Winter sale goes live, we'll also find out about whatever mini-game Valve has planned, as we normally see during the big summer and winter sales.
