Last night during The Game Awards, Microsoft had a particularly big showing. Not only was the next-gen Xbox officially shown off for the first time, but the first game for that console was also announced- Senua's Saga: Hellblade 2.
Hellblade: Senua's Sacrifice was one of the most critically acclaimed games of 2017 and now, Ninja Theory is officially working on a sequel. You can see the announcement trailer below:
This is the second game that Ninja Theory has announced since joining Xbox Game Studios, with the first being ‘Bleeding Edge', a competitive multiplayer brawler due out in March 2020.
Hellblade 2 does not have a release date at this time but we can expect to hear plenty more in 2020, as Microsoft gears up to launch the newly announced Xbox Series X.

KitGuru Says: Ninja Theory is one of the most exciting studios under Microsoft's wing heading into 2020. I wouldn't necessarily bet on Hellblade 2 being a launch title for the next-gen Xbox but since Microsoft has a habit of not announcing games more than 18 months away from release, it should arrive in the first half of 2021 at the latest. Hopefully Microsoft will have more to announce next year.
