Gran Turismo 7 update adds Sony’s own real-life prototype car

The Gran Turismo series is no stranger to adding odd or unique vehicles to its games. From concept cars to a moon rover, Polyphony Digital manages to show its appreciation to vehicles of all sorts. As part of GT7’s latest update, Sony’s own currently-unreleased Afeela Prototype can now be driven.

Patch 1.46 is available now for Gran Turismo 7 and brings with it the expected list of changes and additions, including:

  • New vehicle – Chevrolet Chevelle SS 454 Sport Coupé '70
  • New vehicle – Škoda Vision Gran Turismo
  • New events
  • New scape
  • Cafe enhancements
  • GT Auto additions

By far the most interesting part of this update however is the inclusion of Sony’s as-of-yet-unreleased (though intended to be commercially available eventually) Afeela prototype car.

First announced back in 2020, the Vision-S 01 (now known as the Afeela) is an all electric car which is planned to use all of the latest Sony tech – including autonomous driving.

While the real car is likely still years away, those wanting to check out the Afeela can now do so, with Sony-Honda mobility releasing a statement saying “Before the real vehicle is released, we would like as many people as possible to ride it in-game. Please enjoy it”. The full patch notes for update 1.46 can be found HERE.
