MSI announces two new high refresh-rate 27in gaming monitors

MSI has announced two new gaming monitors, the MAG273 and the MAG273R. These two monitors are almost identical, with the key differences being the RGB LEDs and the extra ergonomic features of the MAG273R.

Both monitors use 27-inch IPS panels, cased in a frameless design, with Full HD resolution, 144Hz refresh rate, and 1ms response time. These 10-bit (8-bit + FRC) panels offer 250 nits of brightness, a contrast ratio of 1000:1, and 178° (H) / 178° (V) viewing angles, covering 98% of the DCI-P3 colour gamut, and 136% of the SRGB colour gamut, according to MSI.

Both screens also support AMD Freesync technology and are HDR-ready, but only the MAG273R supports MSI Mystic Light, given that it's the only one with RGB LEDs. Monitor settings like “Night Vision”, to brighten darker areas, can be configured using Gaming OSD App. Both the MAG273 and the MAG273R use Anti-Flicker technology and “Less Blue Light” to reduce any potential eye strain.

For connectivity, there are 1x DisplayPort 1.2a and 2x HDMI 2.0 ports on each screen. There's also 2x USB 2.0 Type-A ports, 1x USB 2.0 Type-B port, and 1x headphone out. Unlike the MAG273, which can only tilt from -5° ~ 20°, the MAG273R can tilt -5° ~ 20° and its height can be adjusted (0 ~ 130mm). Both monitors also support VESA 100x100mm mounting.

No pricing or availability details were shared. If you want to learn more about the MSI MAG273 click HERE, and for the MSI MAG273R click HERE.
