Last Oasis pulled offline and refunds offered due to launch weekend issues

Last Oasis initially looked like a very promising PvP focused survival MMO but its launch weekend has been riddled with issues. Widespread connection issues meant that early buyers couldn't even play the game and at the moment, this problem still persists. As a result, servers are being taken offline for a week, with players being offered refunds regardless of their Steam playtime.

In Last Oasis, players band together to build these walking landships and are constantly being forced on the move to remain within a habitable zone. Then of course, you also need to worry about other groups of players that may be looking to sabotage other survivors. Unfortunately, many were unable to explore these mechanics over launch weekend, leading to the following tweet from the developers:

In the video update, Donkey Crew confirms that “coders have been working day and night to solve this issue” but after being unable to fix the problem, the studio decided to take the game offline. “We need to properly investigate why our load testing didn't pick this up and what went wrong, and then figure it out properly and solve it”.

Last Oasis is an early access title, so some issues were expected, but for now, the game will remain offline in order to narrow things down. Hopefully by next weekend, the game will be back on track.

KitGuru Says: I've been off of survival games for a while now but Last Oasis looked very interesting. Did many of you try playing it over the weekend? Are you going to refund it, or wait until next week while the developers work on a fix?
