SilentiumPC's Fortis 3 line of coolers has been out for some time and has received multiple updates since the launch of the original model, back in 2015. The latest entry to this series is the Fortis 3 EVO ARGB, with the biggest difference being the new 140mm ARGB fan.
The 140mm fan that comes included with the Fortis 3 EVO ARGB is the Pulsar HP ARGB. This fan is made entirely of translucent white plastic, including the frame. This gives the impression that not only the fan blade, but also the frame is illuminated by RGB LEDs. There are 9 LEDs in the Pulsar HP fan, each one separately addressable and with up to 16 million colours. The RGB effects vary from a rainbow effect, a static colour or changing colours at the configured pace.
The fan's RGB LEDs can be synchronised using Asus Aura Sync, ASRock Polychrome Sync, Gigabyte RGB Fusion 2.0 and MSI Mystic Light Sync. There's also an included Nano-reset ARGB controller which allows the user to configure the RGB LEDs, even without a compatible board. The controller ARGB signal splitters enable the fan to synchronise with other SilentiumPC products. Users can synchronise the fan's RGB LED's using the Aurora Sync EVO PWM ARGB controller, sold separately.
The Pulsar HP ARGB PWM fan RPM range is 250-1400RPM, and the MTBF is 50000 hours. The nickel plated asymmetrical heatsink is connected to the base through 5x 6mm heat pipes, with “direct CPU contact”. The heatsink's asymmetrical shape was designed to avoid the any interference from a user's RAM modules.
Measuring 158×140×125mm (HxWxL) and weighing 800g, the Fortis 3 EVO ARGB is rated for CPUs with up to a 220W TDP. According to TechPowerUp, this cooler comes with Pactum PT-2 thermal compound, with 5W/mK of thermal conductivity, and it's compatible with AMD's AM2 (+), AM3 (+), and AM4 sockets, and Intel's LGA775, LGA115x, LGA1366, LGA2011 (v3), and LGA2066 sockets.
