Yoko Taro, the creator of the Drakengard and NieR series, has also developed a mobile game called SINoALICE. At first, this mobile game was scheduled for a worldwide release in July 2019, but the launch was postponed indefinitely. Now, Nexon has transferred the game service to Pokelabo, the original developer of SINoALICE, and scheduled its worldwide release for the 1st of July 2020.
SINoALICE is a turn-based RPG that released in Japan in 2017. According to Siliconera, the game's notoriety comes from its creative director, Yoko Taro, the creator of the successful NieR: Automata. In SINoALICE, you play with different interpretations of the characters from multiple known fairy tales as they explore “The Library”. The objective of each character is to revive the “Author” of its fairy tale. Some of the playable characters include Cinderella, Snow White, Sleeping Beauty and Alice.
Alongside the release date announcement, there were also a couple of trailers launched (1, 2). In these trailers, you can get an overview of the gameplay, mechanics and story of SINoALICE.
With the approaching release date, the SINoALICE developer Pokelabo is holding a global social media event. The event will be held on the game's Facebook page, Twitter account, and Instagram account. A part of this event comprises a 100 days Countdown Mission, which consist of two other missions: the first mission is to reach 30,000 social media interactions so players receive 100000 gold on the game's release. The second mission is to increase social interactions to 50,000, resulting in players receiving 150000 gold on release and unlocking Mission 3.
Additionally, Pokelabo announced that it will hold a 2-part collaboration event with both NieR: Automata (first) and NieR: Replicant (second). In these events, players will fight alongside the characters of each respective game, as seen in the trailer.
