Sea of Thieves is coming to Steam

Over the last year, Microsoft has been making an effort to bring more of its games to Steam, leaving behind the Windows Store exclusive strategy. While games like Halo: The Master Chief Collection and Gears 5 were quick to make it over, others have taken a bit longer. Recently, State of Decay 2 officially made the jump to Steam and now, Sea of Thieves is also going to be joining the list. 

Sea of Thieves didn't get off to the best start but Rare has revamped the game over the years with consistent updates. The pirate adventure sim now has a lot more to do and thanks to a healthy player base,  you are bound to run into other pirates along the way to mix things up a bit.

There is no set Steam launch date yet, but Sea of Thieves does now have a listing on the store and is marked as ‘Coming Soon'. Beyond that, the game features full cross-play support between Xbox One, Windows 10 and Steam, so you will be able to play with your friends no matter the platform.

We don't know how much Sea of Thieves will cost on Steam at launch either, but a £24.99 price point seems like a safe bet. Currently, Xbox Game Studios is also having a sale on Steam, so you can pick up Gears 5, Halo, Age of Empires and other titles at a discount.

KitGuru Says: I prefer using Game Pass for these titles nowadays but being able to have these games on Steam is always a tempting proposition. Are any of you planning on giving Sea of Thieves a try when it comes to Steam?
