Asus announces the TUF Gaming VG279Q1R 144Hz IPS monitor

Asus is adding a new monitor to its TUF Gaming line of products. The upcoming TUF Gaming VG279Q1R monitor is aimed at those looking for the best “bang for the buck” for a high refresh rate monitor.

As per Guru3D, this 27-inch monitor comes equipped with an IPS panel with a 1080p resolution, 144Hz refresh rate, and 1ms response time (MPRT). This 8-bit panel has a brightness of 250 cd/m², a contrast ratio of 1,000: 1, and 178°(H)/178°(V) viewing angles, covering 72% of the NTSC colour gamut.

The monitor supports FreeSync Premium technology for a more fluid experience, and Asus ELMB (Extreme Low Motion Blur) technology to reduce smearing and motion blur. Additionally, there are also multiple gaming enhancements such as GameVisual and GamePlus, Shadow Boost to improve visibility in darker scenes, and Flicker-Free technology and Ultra-Low Blue Light technology to reduce the user's eye-strain and the amount of harmful blue light emitted by the screen.

Measuring 612.6x431x213mm (WxHxD) and just 7.5mm at its thinnest point, it also boasts a relatively sleek design. Additionally, the screen features the new Turbo Rim ‘that matches the perfect gaming setup' but there's also support for a 75x75mm VESA mount. The monitor comes with 2x 2W Stereo RMS speakers, 2x HDMI 1.4 ports, 1x DisplayPort 1.2, and 1x 3.5mm headphone jack. Regarding ergonomics, the monitor can only tilt from -5º to 22º.

Pricing and availability are yet to be shared, but it's expected that it will cost around £200. If you want to learn more about the TUF Gaming VG279Q1R, click HERE.
