Nier Replicant is getting remastered for PC, Xbox One and PS4

The Nier franchise has gained plenty of new fans this generation thanks to the excellent Nier Automata. Now, we'll have the chance to go back and see where it all started, as a remaster of Nier Replicant has been announced for PC, Xbox One and PS4.

Square Enix and ToyLogic revealed the new version of Nier Replicant on a livestream this weekend. The game originally came to PS3 a decade ago, set in the same place as the original Nier but changing the main character to someone younger. You can see the teaser trailer below:

Nier Replicant ver 1.22474487139 is coming this year with fully voiced and re-recorded voiced dialogue. ToyLogic is in charge of development but Takahisa Taura, Game Designer at PlatinumGames, will be helping out on the project.

We can also expect new content to be added from the original and an expanded soundtrack. A release date has not been announced just yet, but we should learn more later in the year.

KitGuru Says: This is of course part of the 10th anniversary celebration for the Nier franchise, which appears to be in a great place now. Hopefully we'll also see a sequel to Automata announced eventually.
